Its given me an excuse to google hobnobs (whatever those are :S ), Harvey Nicolls, among other things. Like Kelk’s previous novels her writing in I Heart London is basic, and she spends more time describing shoes and Marc Jacob’s bags than she does adding to character depth and forming an intriguing plot – but that’s okay. We get to know Louisa a little bit more and I loved the scene where they get together, sitting in her bedroom like they used to when they were 16 years old! And another part of me is thankful for not spending money I didn't have, as money still feels too tight nine years later. Lindsey Kelk has such a way with words that she can bring amusement to even the simplest of lines and Cassandra Harwood presents this humour really well with her narration.
The city has many famous landmarks that include four world heritage sites; the Tower of London; Kew Gardens; the site comprising the Palace of Westminster, Westminster Abbey, and St Margaret’s Church; and the historic settlement of Greenwich. Don't get me wrong, there were still those moments - the swoony ones - like every time Alex was with Grace, ALL I wanted to do was bed him, wed him and be the mother of his children, and I'm just 22. Now there’s a wedding in the offing – and everyone remembers how well Angela behaved at the last one .I was utterly absorbed into the story, well, that's the magic of Lindsey Kelk, her books make you turn pages faster than you eyes can finish reading them! Angela Clark is like a sister to me, I love her so much, I actually made pages of the I Heart books on Facebook. When Angela steps back on England soil, it’s like she immediately regresses to her teenage self, sulkily arguing with her mother. It did make me want to read the whole series so I'm excited to start from the beginning and learn about Angela Clark. Alex is also coming over for the birthday and to meet her parents properly who have made it quite clear that they don’t really trust this new American musician boyfriend.
